So whether you are looking for long, white sandy beaches, small coves full of rock pools and places to explore or dramatic, rugged coastlines steeped with towering cliffs, the choices available are quite staggering. Brittany Groundhouse offers the perfect base to explore the fabulous towns, countryside and coasts of Brittany

Just 20 minutes away from the house you also have the famous Lac de Guerlédan, a 22 km lake which has activities for every member of the family. Its rustic landscape and forests are a haven for walkers, ramblers, mountain bikers and horse riders, whilst its all year round water sports centre includes kayaks, rowing boats, water skiing and pleasure cruises. In the summer, the lake offers superb swimming with several small sandy beaches which are perfect for children and offer a great location for a summer picnic. If you’re looking for something more cultured however, the local area offers a fantastic choice of medieval towns, megaliths, châteaus and museums whilst food lovers will be mesmerized by the diversity of Breton cuisine, famous for its legendary seafood, crepes and galettes, lamb and cheeses. Locally, the area is famed for its organic and bio-dynamic produce much of which can be found at the local Tuesday market in nearby Rostrenen.

Locally you could always indulge in a spot of fishing on the nearby Nantes Brest Canal, take a leisurely ride along the canal towpath, enjoy some scenic horse riding or visit the amazing Quénécan forest or Abbaye de Bon Repos.
